There are transverse lines on forehead that normally vary in depth from person to person. These lines are vertical in between eyebrows, also known as frown lines. Same as in the facial skin, the forehead skin starts loosening, sagging and deepening as we age. Over time, the eyebrows come down and the person reveal a tired-looking facial expression.
The surgery is usually performed on male and female patients over the age of 40 who have no other health problems. The lines on the forehead are minimized after forehead lift. Droopy eyebrows are lifted and brought up to the place where they should be.
In recent years, forehead lift surgery has become performable with endoscopic method. In patients who do not need excessive tissue removal, the same result now can be obtained with 3 or 4 incisions (2 cm) in the scalp, from the back of the hairline. This method is applied in most of the forehead lift surgeries, allowing a more comfortable postoperative period, none or minimal loss of sensation in the scalp.
